Inspection Bureau Expenses & Fees
Since the Inspection Bureau is a private, independent organization, no expenses are incurred by local building departments for its operation. Thus, by utilizing IBI’s services, the City, County and municipalities save money by not having to fund their own inspection departments’ operational costs. Operational costs would include:
rent for space
liability insurance
personal property insurance
health insurance
pension and retirement
costs or fees
supervisory personnel
department managers
building janitorial staff
administrative personnel
building maintenance staff utilities
transportation and maintenance automobiles and insurance legal and professional fees
miscellaneous expenses
In addition, IBI has agreed to and does in fact perform free safety inspections when requested under its contract. Over the last five years, it has performed well over 250 such free surveys.
The IBI also gives advice to avoid problems whenever possible, and works closely with City, County, and municipal officials to solve any problems that do occur. For example, IBI works closely with government officials on festival inspections each year, and assists both officials and contractors in fulfilling the legal requirements mandating that all electrical plans shall be sealed by a registered design professional.
Fees
IBI’s current fee structure which can be viewed below is a simplified fee structure form, which IBI uses for it’s contractors. This form contains all the fees and is easy to follow.
IBI customers have consistently approved of requested fee increases – proof positive of the high level of service that IBI gives to the community.
